Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Teach undergraduate courses for Department of Human Development and Family Sciences. Classes will be offered using the following modalities: face to face, hybrid, and/or online at the Lubbock campus. Courses topics may include, but are not limited to, human development across the lifespan (e.g., child development, prenatal, adolescence), family dynamics and relationships (e.g., family, parenting), research and theories in human development and family sciences (e.g., methods, theoretical foundations) and human development in context (e.g., cross-cultural perspectives, community, global perspectives).
  • Be able to adapt and update course content to meet curricula and student needs as well utilize and adapt to diverse teaching modalities.

Required Qualifications
Terminal academic degree (or its equivalent) as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Ability to teach effectively. Job assignment can be full-time or part-time depending on the needs of the department. This position will be classified as Security Sensitive and requires a criminal background check if selected for employment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A doctoral degree in HDFS or a closely related field is required.
  • Effective teaching ability evidenced by a minimum of one year of experience as an instructor at the university level.
