Job Description:


APPOINTMENT: Spring, 2020

RESPONSIBILITIES:* Represent Western Illinois University at recruitment functions which include high school and community college visits, presentations, college fairs, and special recruitment programs both on and off campus. * Counsel and advise prospective high school students/families regarding all policies and procedures related to the admissions process. This includes, but is not limited to admissions standards, housing, financial aid, honors, scholarships, transfer credits and registration. * Conduct follow up with students via email, text messages, social media or telephone. * Perform other administrative duties as assigned. * Extensive travel with overnight stays, weekends and evening hours is required.

Requirements:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:*Valid Driver's License * Ability to lift (or have an adaptation to lift) up to 50 # boxes of recruitment materials on a daily basis. * Ability to work evenings, weekends & overnight stays. * Ability to work with diverse population. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Earned Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. * One year experience in undergraduate admissions recruitment experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution. * Bilingual or conversant in Spanish. * Three years of undergraduate admissions experience.

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be "in hand" at the time of application.

WIU-Macomb, IL (Student Population: 6,432): A traditional, residential four-year campus with offering a comprehensive slate of undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education, WIU-Macomb is located in the heart of west central Illinois in Macomb (population 20,000). Amtrak provides twice-daily service from Macomb to Chicago (and point in-between). Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).

WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,192): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan, non-residential campus in Moline, IL.
