Admission Counselor for Non-Traditional Admission

Reports To:Director of Non-Traditional Adult, Transfer and Professional Studies
Description:The position of Admission Counselor for Non-Traditional Admission is an integral part of Carroll University's enrollment staff, which requires an enthusiastic, high energy individual, who is determined to see that the college's enrollment goals are met successfully. The individual must be committed to personal attention, follow-up, and adept at matching prospective students' needs with Carroll offerings.
Responsibilities:
Manage recruitment initiatives to represent Carroll at external recruitment events; internally for the undergraduate community and within professional communities to educate individuals about Carroll University.
Meet targeted enrollment goals thought the establishment of effective recruitment strategies and relationship management.
Proactively and professionally, contact prospective students with incomplete applications. Ensure that admitted students are aware of next steps involved in matriculation and enrollment.
Review application credentials for assigned students, make an admission decision, and award merit based scholarships.
Prospect for qualified students by representing Carroll at two-year colleges/fairs
Perform consumer based counseling with prospective students to show them how Carroll University can meet their needs.
Educate prospective students on the financial aid process, the college's financial aid philosophy, and the specifics of individual financial aid awards.
Perform quality and timely follow-up with prospective students.
Conduct on-campus interviews with prospective students.
Complete transfer credit evaluations.
Identify solutions to facilitate workflow enhancements.
Assist with the creation and updating of 2+2 articulation agreements.
Assist with transfer student virtual recruitment events.
Present transfer student information session at university sponsored events.
Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree required
1-2 years of experience in sales/recruiting preferred
Previous experience in private higher education undergraduate admission preferred
Previous experience in recruitment for online and adult programs preferred
Technology Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to use University software to create & maintain student admissions records
Human Relations Skills:
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Client focused sense of urgency and responsiveness
Ability to listen effectively, work independently and as part of a team
Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Attention to detail and accuracy
Sensitivity to the needs of students
Additional Qualifications:
Must have valid driver's license and be insurable under the University's plan
This position requires weekend and/or evening hours
