Position Focus:
Yale University's Sexual Harassment and Assault Response & Education (SHARE) Center is available to all members of the Yale community (undergraduate students, graduate/professional students as well as staff and faculty members and their dependents/spouses) who are dealing with sexual misconduct of any kind, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, intimate partner violence, and more. We assist individuals who are dealing with current/recent and past experiences, as well as offer support to those who may experience something indirectly such as supporting friends, family or loved ones or witnessing something of concern.

SHARE provides crisis support, advocacy, and referral to on-going care for all members of the Yale community. We also offer on-going therapy and supportive counseling for students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional) focused on processing issues related to sexual misconduct. We offer a variety of groups, including Trauma-Informed Yoga for Survivors and a general survivor support group.

Additionally, we have resources for individuals who may have concerns about their own behavior or be mandated for training after being found responsible of a sexual misconduct violation. Currently, these services are provided through the Conduct Awareness Training Program (https://sharecenter.yale.edu/services/conduct-awareness-program), an active psychoeducation program that provides educational information and opportunities for self- reflection in order to promote participants' understanding and empathy related to sexual behavior, including an examination of broader relationship patterns and dynamics.

Reporting to the Director of the SHARE Center, the Behavioral Support Clinician will provide counseling, assistance, and training to members of the Yale community (students, faculty, and staff) who are either self-referred or mandated as a result of concerns related to sexual behavior and/or broader relationship patterns and dynamics. They will provide both short-term and ongoing therapy and/or supportive counseling and assist with the coordination of services and referrals to both campus and community-based resources. They will also help with coordination and support of the Conduct Awareness Training Program. They will be available for scheduled appointments Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm with the possibility for 1 - 2 remote workdays per week. This individual will assess the needs related to support of this population and work on developing innovative and creative strategies to meet those needs. They will work closely with SHARE staff members and others on developing and disseminating prevention and education initiatives related to helping community members to engage in safe and respectful decision making related to sexual behavior, dating, and relationships. There may also be an opportunity to participate in and contribute to the growing restorative and transformative justice initiatives happening on campus.
