The University of New Hampshire Psychological and Counseling Services (PACS) invites applications for the Associate Director Clinical Services position. We are seeking a seasoned mental health clinician or psychologist with a minimum of five years of experience in the mental health field with demonstrated clinical, consultative and administrative supervision in collegiate mental health. Must hold a master of social work or doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology, and must be licensed eligible as a social worker or psychologist in the State of New Hampshire.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Administer, supervise and manage clinical services at PACS.

  • Assist the Director with daily administration, management, and oversite within PACS, and collaborate to support staff development.

  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy, crisis and emergency on-call coverage, and case management for students within a brief and focused counseling model.

  • Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and other committees within PACS and in the greater university.

  • Provide outreach programming services for the campus community.


Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Social Work or doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology, or equivalent including a supervised internship and fiver years of experience in the mental health field.

  • Demonstrated ability in administration.

  • Licensed as a mental health clinician or psychologist for five years at the time of application (please specify jurisdiction and date psychologist license was granted).

  • Eligible for licensure as a mental health clinician or psychologist in the State of New Hampshire and able to gain licensure within 12 months of beginning position.

  • Minimum of five years' experience working in a college or university counseling center.

  • Ability to provide brief and focused counseling.

  • Experience providing risk assessment and crisis response.

  • Demonstrated experience in initiating and leading DEI efforts within a counseling center and the campus community.

  • Experience leading a diverse, collaborative team-based approach to clinical services in a fast-paced work setting.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed seven or more years as a psychologist or social worker.

  • Strengths in administrative clinical services management and crisis and case management.

  • Expertise in psychotherapy and clinical supervision.

  • Demonstrated leadership in the field of mental health.

  • Experience and ability to provide culturally responsive treatment, programing, and supervision and to consider issues of ethnicity & race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, developmental and acquired disability, age, social economic status, national origin, and their intersectionality.

  • Experience providing outreach and consultation.
