Brief Summary of Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities

Engage professionally in alcohol and drug counseling and outreach activities. The counseling services include diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and amelioration of psychological problems, emotional conditions, or mental conditions of individuals or groups.

Provides individual and group therapy, consultation, and crisis intervention to Morgan State University students.
Develops and conducts outreach, presentations and psycho educational workshops on substance usage and related topics.
Rotates on call services with the other professional in the University Counseling Center.
Must maintain clinical records electronically.
Must ensure client confidentiality and maintain ethical and legal guidelines as required by the State of Maryland.
Must be able to perform all duties as assigned.

Requested Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of counseling skills, treatment methodologies and outreach

Educational Requirements

The candidate must have successfully obtains their Psy.D., Ph.D., LCSW, or must be a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)

Experience

Must have three or more years serving clients with substance abuse disorders.
